Bonaire

Welcome to Bonaire, also known as “Diver’s Paradise”. Bonaire has beautiful water that is crystal clear and warm all year-round. Stand on the beach at Plaza Resort Bonaire, look in any direction, and you will be staring at a string of spectacular dive sites that stretch for miles along the coast. A short boat ride gets you even more dive sites that are around the uninhabited nature preserve of Klein Bonaire. Begin your dive holiday with a leisurely dive right off the beach of Plaza Resort Bonaire at 18 Palms. It’s an easy entry site with a short swim out to a beautiful site with abundant marine life. Lush coral heads become larger and more numerous as you approach the edge of the gentle drop-off. Beyond that the hard corals give way to sponges and soft corals, all flourishing in the warm, calm water. Watch for the tarpon around 70 feet that frequent this location! This site is also enjoyed as an excellent night dive site. Bonaire is a dive destination that is suitable for snorkelers, beginner divers, as well as technical and rebreather divers. RT Adventures has taken a dive group to Bonaire for the past 25+ years over Thanksgiving, as well as a week during the summer. Bonaire truly is a “Diver’s Paradise”!!

Maldives

Maldives is a beautiful chain of islands located in the Indian Ocean about 1500 miles southwest of India. A group of RT Adventures divers enjoyed a week of awesome diving the central atolls of Maldives in April, 2019. It was “a trip of a lifetime” for most of us and we are currently planning a return trip to dive the southern atolls in March 27 to April 3, 2021. The diving is truly spectacular and enjoyable since the average water temp is 82-86*F. A dive skin or shorty wetsuit is great for completing around 18 dives, as well as for night dives. Because we had a great time onboard the luxury dive yacht, Blue Force One, we have booked them again for our March 2021 trip. Our diving will begin south of the equator and we will be diving around at least 7 southern atolls as we slowly make our way northward to Male, the capital of Maldives. Diving in the southern atolls gives us a good chance to see the big stuff: oceanic manta rays, whale sharks, hammerheads, leopard sharks, and maybe even a mola mola! Diving in the southern atolls may include channel dives in currents, so we suggest this trip for advanced divers. Toward the end of the dive week, we will once again be in the central atolls of Maldives, where we will visit manta cleaning stations and a night dive to watch the manta ballet (also known as their dinner!). Maldives is definitely a dream trip for all divers!

Florida Keys

Diving in the Florida Keys is a ton of fun. The corals are known for their abundance of fish-life. There are shallow reefs that are perfect for the beginner diver, as well as a wide variety of deeper reefs for the more experienced. There are also many well-known wreck sights to enjoy in the Keys, like the Spiegel Grove, the Vandenberg, the Duane, the Bibb, and the list goes on. There is something for most every diver in the Florida Keys. The water temp in the summer months can reach 82*F up to 85*F, making it a most comfortable place to dive. Join us and let’s go diving!

Truk lagoon

Diving Truk Lagoon is a wreck divers dream! There are more than 60 World War 2 Japanese war ships and aircraft resting within the lagoon. They were sunk during Operation Hailstone in early 1944. There are wrecks located in a variety of depths in the lagoon, making this a suitable dive site for the sport diver as well as the technical diver. You may see army tanks, operating rooms inside a war ship, old telephones, shoes, etc. The lagoon is full of sunken monuments and historical artifacts, putting Truk Lagoon up there among the world’s greatest wreck diving destinations.
